Well, I just don't see how people can profit from global warming. I mean, if it was entirely made up, it would have to come from the government, or the scientists. The only people I can see making a profit from it is using it as leverage for people to buy solar panels for their houses, which would come from solar panel sellers. Mind, I am not the most knowlegable person when it comes to politics, so please, enlighten me how the government and/or scientists can use the global warming theory to gain from it

They already are. And scientists/govt have a vested interest in keeping folks afraid as an excuse to raise taxes. How many folks/institutes are put out of work if it is really just weather. In the 70s the same scientists warned of global cooling.
Carbon taxes are just a tax on all "dirty energy" and in USA that even include hydro power!?

In summary: the profit from taxing, arbitrarily, all forms of energy. And this is not a small tax, since it is taxed multiple times just like a VAT tax.

Ah, I honestly never thought of it in that way. Can't believe I didn't think about it as an excuse to raise taxes, even though I have heard about 'dirty energy taxes'. I thank you for enlightining me on that possibility (Which is quite possibly true) Temperature fluctuations on the planet DO happen - I think it is likely that perhaps the world is overall perhaps 1 degree hotter than what it was 10 years ago, but it's nothing to send people into a panic. I'm pretty sure the world will go back to it's 'normal' temperature in 10 years. Now, if only those extra taxes were spent on things more useful...

Consider that it has been both hotter and colder w/o man. Also even greenies admit that w/ human world carbon output of zero it would not make much difference.

So it is a way to "make us behave" and punish the wealthy industrialized countries while rewarding the impoverished dictatorships all the while governments and the UN taking their cut along the way. Classic redistribution of wealth in the name of saving the planet. It makes my head explode. about 70 of USA know it to be a scam but the govt class see dollar signs - and they are driving the bus...
