Yes, he is, and his husband Michael (otherwise known as "Michelle") is a transgender as well!  Wish I could remember what the speech was about but you can find a video online of Obama speaking where he clearly states:  "Michael and I..." and doesn't bother to correct himself out of either sheer laziness or acceptance of Michelle's true identity!  The thing even looks like a man, for crying out loud!
