The Good GuysCommentsI'd like to see Neal Boortz as well. He's a Libertarian, but he fits right in here with the rest. And then I could Tweet it to him! Yeah, I'm selfish that way.
It pains me to see King up here with these borderline racist cancerous demagogues. King was a Democratic Socialist, and saw racial and social inequality (the two being inextricably linked) at home as being related to American imperialism and social disparity abroad.
"A nation that will keep people in slavery for 244 years," King told the Southern Christian Leadership Council (SCLC) in 1967, "will 'thingify' them – make them things. Therefore they will exploit them, and poor people generally, economically. And a nation that will exploit economically will have to have foreign investments and everything else, and will have to use its military might to protect them. All of these problems are tied together." King apparently connected racial inequality at home with American capitalism, economic exploitation, and American imperialism abroad. Coincidence? Or did he belong to a different camp than Rush, O'Reilly, Beck, and Reagan? Please have a little respect for King and stop trying to torture his image into the narrow confines of your own political ideology. He does not deserve to be placed among the rest of the filth on this page. It pains me that libs have turned Indians & Blacks into wards of the nanny state - and you take pride in it.
no hippies please. I'm glad to see Dr. King up here because he would hang his head in shame at Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Andrew Young and several more who should know better and abide by his teaching that we are all Americans. Andrew Young even said so after putting his foot in his mouth.
And that is to say nothing of his family. I live in Atlanta and they are the most shameful of all. He absolutely deserves to be here with this group because he fought for a better America with equality for all, not the enslavement of the rich so that the poor could sit at home and collect a check. Dr. King didn't "apparently" do anything. He said what he meant and he meant what he said and he said it out loud. Read a book or two and you might learn something about Dr. King and how far the race pimps above have strayed from his teachings. It pains me that white Americans have lynched, raped, enslaved, and marginalized Blacks into a state of disenfranchisement. And that they have enacted a near-genocide on the indigenous populations of American Indians, scalping, raping, and murdering them into submission.
I take no pride in "the nanny state" as you call it. I simply understand that their is a historical context for contemporary America, and that this is more of a result of "capitalism at its finest in practice" than Stalinist bogeys lurking on the horizons of history. Pains me that the moneyed elite have turned Conservatives into leering parodies of "homo sapiens", to the point where the only thing they can do is vomit soundbites, Party slogans, and consistently vote against their own interests. Again, I ask you to please respect the name and memory of King and remove him from this gallery. |
