Obamacare Ballot by Conservatoons Obamacare Ballot by Conservatoons
Yes, I know you would not go directly to jail.

If you opt not to buy the government approved policy you will be taxed. It is an IRS matter at that point. And have you ever noticed how the govt gets when you don't pay taxes? Ask Wesley Snipes, Al Capone, et al.

You could commit any number of crimes and be let off with probation due to our "restorative" justice system and backwards budget priorities, but evade taxes and the government lowers the boom.

One might wonder if enforcement would be as selective as, oh, say, hate crimes and immigration laws.

Services "free" or perceived as such are rarely appreciated or respected. They are expected and demanded. Soon the public attitude towards medical professionals will be the same as that of DMV employees. When funds run low, and they always do, why should a doctor make 10 times more than Maria at the post office? We all must sacrifice.

Not a great environment for the best and brightest to join the medical profession. And an industry with unmotivated, mundane employees and always strapped for cash will not be leading the way in research.

All this begs the question as to whether mandating/providing healthcare is in the Constitution.

Fortunately, Obama can make is all work w/ a smile and apology.

I'd check the third choice and then check it again. You can't argue with the truth (Well you can, but that wouldn't make any sense).

Illegal aliens who can't speak English can find jobs left and right. Why can't well-bodied citizens of the US find jobs easily? I, along with most conservatives, understand handicapped people getting special healthcare benefits. But I can't understand why non-handicapped people need Obamacare.

I just found this today and it made me incredibly happy. Healthcare is a choice and unfortunately my generation and quite a few before and after it don't like making those 'grown up' choices. What they forget to realize is that to give up those grown up decisions will lead to the government doing it for them and taking taking their right to be fully functioning adults away. Forever stuck in adolescence, giving up more and more of their freedoms because they don't want to make the "grown up" choices

Thank you for this.

Well, at least with Al Capone, he was generous.
He could've been the ultimate politician if he'd kept his mafia ties under wraps.

I have to admit, he was very intelligent; he was a master a public relations. Alot of people didn't care that he was responsible for many unsavory activities. He kept the city cleaned up better than the police could've ever hoped to back then.

Its so simple. Healthy people who have healthcare and are not effected by the recession, are completely against healthcare reform. These are the same fucktards that voted for Bush twice.

Those who don't have healthcare and are sick and need it, are for healthcare reform.

What about those who have healthcare and support reform? Those are the people we need more of. The people that see the big picture. Realists.

Hrm...But see, that's the whole point. You have to remember, people in jail get free health care. So if you get sent to jail for not buying health care, you get health care anyways. But then again, was Soviet Russia a giant prison anyways? And don't we lay-abiding citizens have to pay for law-breaking citizens in prison 25cents a day or whatever it is, because they did something wrong?

So I guess when you look at it as a whole, America is just gonna end up one giant prison system where we all get free health care and 25cents a day to live on, but absolutely no freedom to do anything, except smuggle in cigs in our asses as payment for services?

But look on the bright side, at least we'll all be ripped and buff in a year as all our pent up energy will be put to exercising so we don't go insane.

You ask whether that's in the Constitution. While I'm not sure I like how they're going about the healthcare bit (to use a well-worn phrase, Washington, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.), I would like to raise one point about issues of constitutionality;

The Louisiana Purchase sure as hell wasn't something allowed under the Constitution. Neither was taking the Southwest from Mexico, or that whole bit with the Trail of Tears where Andrew Jackson moved some Native Americans aside to make room for settlers.

(In fact, the Supreme Court raised some objections about that last one. President Jackson told them to go fuck themselves.)

Now, ask yourself - What would America be like without the territory gained from these moves?

I find your reasoning tenuous. Single transactions done in the national interest seem vastly diff than an ongoing, increasing and unsustainable (to use a lib word) entitlement provided not only to citizens, but anyone who skulks onto our soil.

I find your reasoning in classifying such major events as the Louisiana Purchase rather faulty as well.

I do agree with you, however, that they're going about fixing things the wrong way, and will probably end up breaking it further. Just saying that constitutionality isn't the strongest argument you can use.

I wish Americans (politicians) would send their relative to Poland for threatment then make a decision.

All the solutions the liberal politicos propose will not work and cost more money.

They say it is about healthcare, the children, etc. Really it is about more money & more control

Before anyone bashes you taking away people's "human right for free healthcare", a bit of warning.
When money runs out ( dunno but it is not going to happen anytime soon I guess) , the public healthcare is going to become as efficient in the U.S. as in today's Poland (country of Yours truly). Better make up some clever word games or stock up books and crosswords.
The queue's length is really magnificient here.(Cept now Polaks have their lines indoors, as opposed to commie times when it was all one, big, happy queue.)
