He more than likely thought he would and thought he could, every president thinks they're going to make a difference...but they're destined to fail most of their endeavors like anyone else on Earth. They just need to own up to it.
I guess nobody would vote for a president who just said "I'll try" but it would be one of the first honest politicians.
Well now, let's see. 1. Obama promised to bring our troops home within 6 months if elected. Did that happen? NO. Now in 2011, we are finally seeing the provisions to return troops home. BUT he is proposing that we increase our military presence in both Europe and the Middle East, which means troops will go right out the door. 2. Obama promised to shut down Guantanamo. Did that happen? NO. He has even reinforced the Patriot Act, and allowed the NDAA to pass which allows for the secret abduction of US citizens and of citizens around the world to be detained indefinitely without trial and without evidence. 3. During his campaign, Obama said that NAFTA was hurting job creation in America and proposed to end the increased merging of Canada and Mexico. He has done no such thing.
I could add much, much more, but honestly, it's hard to keep track of so many lies and I can't remember the long list of lies he's told us. I used to be pro-Obama until I looked at his economic policies. Stimulus packages are the worst thing to do during a recession. Anyone who knows anything about basic economic principles knows this. He's just a puppet of the Federal Reserve. A private, unconstitutional organization which controls the value of the Dollar at the people's expense. Take back our government and support Ron Paul.
For ~TheWarrigul and any other person who doubts that Obama is a liar, here's a list:
1. "No more pork-barrel projects!"
Damn. Just damn. There isn't much to say about that.
2. He'd raise taxes on the wealthy.
Except, of course, for his biggest buddies. The richest Americans are all radical leftists, including Buffet, who just recently became exempt in official legislation from any tax increase.
3. The biggest corporations and greedy banks need to take responsibility.
What a shame; he bailed out the two largest ones. He should have let them fail. It's the evolutionary process of capitalism; failed businesses make way for new ones. The biggest banks should have been left to die to make room for new ones to take their places. No bailouts for businesses!
4. He'll cut the deficit by half by the end of his first term.
Really? Thats all you've got? A quote from a conspiracy theory nutjob, who is too crazy even for Fox News? This just proves you've got no backbone or thought proccess of your own, you can't name a single lie BECAUSE THERE IS NONE. You've got nothing, no opinion of your own, no original thought idea and no hope AT ALL. You conservatives have nothing but a hunger for power so you can limit the freedoms of the American people.
You dont think I've read your "FAQs"? Of course I have! You've still got nothing! You talk political but when you actualy come up against someone who actualy knows something, you've got nothing! I hope your enjoying being educated on your own weaknesses. Now are you actualy going to give me something that is't so easily quashed? You claim to know logic but you really don't.
Did you know that all politicians lie to get their way to office? I believe those people have goals they actually want to achieve while in office, but they ALL say shit to get themselves in the game and whoever says the most pleasing thing wins. Whether that guy will just be a bastard and a waste of our time or the best president/governor, etc ever, that probably will depend on that individual after they win an election.
And hey, being President is really a stick up your ass. So many problems to go through because America can't pull its shit together blaming other people for problems and stuff. You have the two wars one that was completely pointless, the economical problems, jobs, trying to go green, trying to keep people generally happy even though you know you'll always have some serious hater, and lots of other things. If you think it's a walk in the park, well I would honestly think again. If you're a kid in school, it would be like getting all your high school assignments of all four years on your first day to school. Some of it will be a lot harder and take longer to get to or finish because you have all this other crap to worry about at the same time and you may have people yelling at you to hurry up. Can you really hurry it up? Probably not. Will someone who wants it done exactly one way agree with how you did the assignment? Probably not since there can be various ways to answer or solve a problem and others might think it won't solve the problem and so persuading becomes a bitch.
You guys who just point a finger and call Obama a failure, you better be sure you are looking at the bigger picture, not just him and what he has done and if any of it has satisfied what you think should be taken care of. It's truly a lot of work! Give the man a break!
I agree, some people are just plain stupid with retarded ideas, but you should know when someone has done something entirely wrong. The war in Iraq was one of them from Bush spending the money we didn't have. Now that was dumb.
It's not Obama repeatingly blaming others, it's all of freaking America. All those damn politicians are like "blame it on the immigrants" kind of bullcrap, taking jobs a white man wouldn't take anyway. What is up with that..?!
Personally, I take no side, but slamming Obama is just stupid. America is on the verge of a breakdown so people don't think about shit before pointing a finger. I don't think he's done anything wrong yet, thats all.
But realistically, if you think he hasn't solved anything, before you call him the worst president or whatever he is in your mind, think about all the other shit he has to deal with before getting to problems we think are a big freakin deal. Yeah, some of the things we think should be fixed are a big damn deal, but when you have your hands full with more problems than a man can deal in a lifetime and only have four years to try anything, there is no way in hell you are going to get a lot of the big shit done.
I didn't say he was blameless. That was my opinion alone that he hasn't done anything wrong in my point of view or that I have heard of from people close to me since he was elected president. If you think he has done something outrageously wrong, then please do tell me before you just say "he's a big fat liar."
To be honest, the media has a high chance of being unreliable since the time when Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolf Hearst competed in a selling newspapers creating 'yellow journalism.' Saying the media said so isn't enough. They're all about getting people's attention even if it means talking complete bogus that has little to no truth.
so has every other president's campaign. Bush wasn't any better. Soooooooooo... and if you wanna be so critical why don't you go be a politician and change how things are done huh? people need to stop sitting around bitching and just live with it.
Elections and democracy are just tools to make people think, that they actually are able to change things about the system. When you say that elections matter, didn't Americans believe in change when they elected Obama?
