Healthcare.gov Failure by Conservatoons Healthcare.gov Failure by Conservatoons
Obamacare:

The Claim.
30 million Americans were in dire need of Health Insurance.  It is a crisis that requires re-tooling of the entire healthcare system.   We must act now!
And by the way, an efficient, government-run system will save families $2500/yr.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=15E7go…

The Stated Result.
Over 30 million uninsured and under-insured Americans would clamor to sign up for low cost insurance w/o pre-existing conditions or limits.  The system will pay for itself and even save taxpayers money.  Projected costs were under $1 trillion with savings eventually.

The Expected Result.
Hopefully somewhere near 30 million Americans will be persuaded to pay for something they didn’t really want.   A few million will pay the penalty.    There will be no savings but maybe it won’t cost too much more.

The Actual Result.
Only 2.4 million have signed up and most of those are because they are getting, or expect to get, the cost of their Obamacare Insurance subsidized.   Billions were taken out of Medicare to offset costs.   Obamacare was determined to be merely an additional tax by the SCOTUS.   There is no upper limit to costs.

The Hoped-For Result.
Government control of all Health Care.  Hospital policies, staff wages, treatment, patient selection, etc will be mandated by Wash D.C.  “Personal” health records will be co-owned by government.  The IRS will ensure medical payments and collections.  Severe limits placed on personal health choices.

Likely Evolution of Result.
Your health record will be entered into a government health matrix and the amount and/or vigor of your health care will be determined by government criteria.   Although these criteria will shift slightly with the political winds, expect factors like:  age, race, sex, income, occupation, weight, lifestyle, etc., to play a major role in deciding who will be treated and who will be given pain medication and/or end-of-life counselling.
Food choices, sports, hobbies, vehicle use, travel, reproduction, etc, will be monitored and regulated due to health concerns and costs.

Honestly, I am getting tired of hearing Obamacare. This healthcare law will bring nothing but disaster to many people, especially on the youth. What concerns me the most is that I plan on going to college soon. Not only do I have to worry about student loans, but if I lose my current health care plan, then I'll either have to pay the penalty or be forced to sign up for Obamacare. Plus, I read on of the Gallup articles that shows that the majority of people disagree with the law, and that it isn't popular with the youth as well. This will bring so much burden to many young Americans, such as myself, and other families as well.

Obama is counting on you youngsters to be stupid enough to pay the Obamacare tax/insurance or the penalty.  (btw penalty is cheaper - for now)   However paying for ins. does not guarantee medical treatment.  You will prob have to go to private dr.s since all the med facilities will be clogged w/ illegas, unemployed and seniors.

Spot on, dead accurate. Love this.

Just waiting for the liberals, progressives, socialists, et al to comment. Particularly those who don't even live in the United States and have never lived there and really don't have a clue how the United States works or how its very diverse and multicultural population makes it unlike anything else that has ever been seen on the face of the planet.

Is there anything that has gotten more efficient once it's been taken over by a government bureaucracy?  I'm not saying the economy should be entirely laissez-faire, but I don't believe extra government oversight is the answer.  It's enough that the IRS knows how much money I make.  They shouldn't be privy to every other aspect of my life.

The sooner people stop consuming lies and start to actually THINK for once in their pathetic lives, nearly half the problems this country suffers from would be solved! Liberals, after all, don't like thinkers for obvious reasons.

But no, people just love their free stuff at someone (who works for a living) else's expense. Often that free stuff overwhelmingly tends to be faulty but are told it works over and over.

They do love free stuff.  But not while they are receiving it - only when we threaten to take it away.  Otherwise it is substandard and/or not enough.

What's sad is the president himself doesn't realize how true that is. His address confirmed it. Which means ither he never read it, or he is clueless.

He doesn't care.  His goal was more power for the government, which he got when the Supreme Court ruled that the government can use its power to tax to force you to do something or not do something; universal healthcare was just the smokescreen he hid behind.

Like I said before in another conversation I had maybe I'm letting the facts get in the way of something such as a good speech but the problem is one fact does actually shields him, somehow he was able to befriend an active-duty serviceman or so he claims, we'll know after he makes a full recovery.

maybe he is fooling himself. I'm trying to be optimistic, but then again maybe I'm just not letting the truth get in the way of a good speech.

Still don't like the guy, but if he even has a hint of truth in the entire economic standpoint of his speech, he has regained my respect.

Friend of mine in California lost his health care thanks to Oh!bummer!care, about three weeks ago. He is now having to pony up almost 1/5 of his income to get the coverage he needs.

Several people I watch on this site, have lost their coverage due to Oh!bummer!care. I am certain quite a few more are on the way.

Penalties apparently are going to rise swiftly from one year to the next, for anyone and Everyone who refuses to sign up for Oh!F%@)&ing!Bummer!care.

And I believe it was 400 BILLION from Medicare.

The worst part: Having Ins does not guarantee treatment.  When the money gets ever tighter and doctors grow scarce the only solution to unlimited demand (poor and illegal will bog the sys down getting "free" care) - is rationing.     That means govt panels will set criteria.   We know how that song goes.

So in the end, we will be taxed and pay for a system we cannot access and have to get treatment on the private (maybe black) market.  We will be paying for healthcare twice.   Just as some folks who send their kids to private school.

Oh here is lovely piece of intel.

Have you seen the penalties for not having Health Insurance?
100 dollars the first year
400-500 second.
600 the third!

eventually the penalty will need to be around $10,000 so young people will buy the insurance (pay the Obamacare tax).  Until then, all young people should save 90% on the Obamacare tax and pay the penalty instead.
