Government Promises by Conservatoons Government Promises by Conservatoons
The great statesman, Gerald Ford said,

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have," in an address to a joint session of Congress on August 12, 1974

Inspired by Obama, this is my more fatalistic paraphrasing.

Also considered "... will ultimately cost you everything."

So true.
This motto is made of gold and unfortunately it is verified more and more every and each passing day!

None of the horrendous 20th century dictatorships became that way because of gradually *sliding* into despotism - Hitler seized power through paramilitarism and brute, shock intimidation - not gradually enroaching legislation. The Bolshevieks seized power with bayonets - it wasn't gradually ceded to them. All of these are *amazingly* examples of states where the government promised nothing, so the people tried to take something, and listened to the first demagogue who came along. This 'slippery slope' argument you chaps trot out is total hogwash - learn 2 history.

Republicans expect a bare minimum from govt. We are happy if it just stays out of our way.

You are want us all to be sad, teat-sucklers unable to function without govt permission.

I weep for you.

i actually weep in your stead.
as far as i can remember i haven't seen a single citizen of your country take any form of action against the goverment that was justified.
the whole "they are taking away our freedom" over the healthcare thing is absurd.

ITS like childres screaming in revolt against their parent as they refuse to listen to the parents who tells them to play on the other side of the field cause that side doesn't have landmines on em that could blow them to smithereens. (in a overreacted term)

seriously when a goverment, YOU guys assembled AND you guys voted for. and the goverment whose TASK is to listen to you cause without your approvement can't get that much done. wants to introduce a system that allows you to be taken care of incase SHIT hits the fan you don't revolt.

If you can't see that Obamacare is a mechanism to control every aspect of your life then you need to step away from the kool-aid.

The prob is ultra-libs seized power of the dem party aided by a supportive ultra-lib media and are disregarding the will of the majority. Pretty simple really.

you guys can choose whether or not to vote.
you guys can choose wether or not to get healthcare.
and you guys can choose wether or not to go to school and get a job.

and what did ya get. a economic crisis and a country where 65% of the people are rotting on the streets and 25% is having major financial problems.

no offense but something in my head tells me that most of your folks are so focused on the present they don't plan ahead and land in the gutter...or dead. that or they just can't think.
no offense.

but i rather have a goverment taking controll of a single part of the system wich is good for the people. since apparantly the people all seem to think they are too danm lucky to get into shit.

65% in street? homeless are a fraction of a %.

25% of any population will always have maj fin problems. 5% just wont work. Just life.

Almost everything any gov. handles directly - rather than oversee - is screws up entirely. Ask a lib what the govt does well and you receive a blank look and prolonged stutter.
